The State Security Service of Georgia has launched an investigation into the repeated emergency shutdowns of electricity supply across the country on July 24 and 25.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 318 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concerns sabotage.
Legal Basis of the Investigation
According to the State Security Service, Article 318 of the Criminal Code of Georgia refers to obstructing the normal functioning of a state enterprise or other important facilities, or damaging or destroying them, with the aim of creating a threat to Georgia’s state interests.
Public Will Be Informed Gradually
The State Security Service states that the public will be informed about the progress of the investigation gradually.
