The non-governmental organization “Georgian Labor Safety Monitoring Group” monitors public and private facilities across the Autonomous Republic of Adjara in order to identify violations in the field of labor safety and support their elimination.
Purpose of the Organization’s Activities
The purpose of the organization’s activities is to protect employees’ labor rights, life, and health, support the creation of a safe working environment, and monitor compliance with labor safety standards established by current legislation.
Monitoring at a Construction Site in Batumi
On July 25, 2026, as part of monitoring carried out by the organization, an alleged violation of labor safety requirements was identified at the construction site of LLC “Sunrise Palace,” located at 135 Bagrationi Street in Batumi.
In particular, employees involved in the work process were not equipped with personal protective equipment required by law, including appropriate protective gear and safety harnesses, despite the fact that the nature of the work made the use of such equipment mandatory.
Legal Assessment of the Alleged Violation
This circumstance constitutes an alleged violation of labor safety standards.
If confirmed by the authorized state body, this fact may result in administrative liability under Georgian legislation, including the imposition of relevant sanctions and monetary fines, depending on the nature and severity of the violation.
Appeal to Relevant State Agencies
The non-governmental organization “Georgian Labor Safety Monitoring Group” calls on the relevant service of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, as well as the Municipal Inspection of Batumi City Hall, to promptly inspect the said facility.
The organization requests that the relevant agencies assess the identified circumstances and, within the scope of their authority, take the appropriate measures provided for by law.
